| Blue Topaz Necklaces from the BoothandBooth Blue Topaz Jewellery Collection Topaz, symbol of love and affection, is the birthstone for November. It is one of nature's most wonderful and least-known families. The true topaz is rarely seen in jewellery stores. Our blue topaz jewellery collection has something for everyone. Unfortunately, most people know only the quartz (citrine) topaz, or glass. In the past almost any yellow stone was called topaz. True topaz is very beautiful and versatile. Topaz occurs not only in the transparent yellow, yellow brown, orangey brown, and pinky brown colors most popularly associated with it, but also in a very light to medium red (now found naturally in fair supply, although many are produced through heat treatment), very light to light blue (also often the result of treatment, although it does occur naturally on a fairly wide scale), very light green, light greenish yellow, violet, and colorless.
Topaz is a hard, brilliant stone with a fine color range, but it is much rarer and much more expensive than the stones commonly sold as topaz.
At the beginning we mentioned that Blue Topaz is the symbolic stone for love and affection.
See what P. A. T. Larson says about the subject in her poem about a Blue Topaz Necklace.
Blue Topaz
Your fingers close the necklace clasp
and gently they caress.
I let my hair drop down;
your fingers wrap a single tress.
I slowly turn to face you,
teardrops softly glaze my cheek.
In my eyes are feelings
I can't find the words to speak
The brilliant deep blue gemstone
lies in contrast on my skin,
It beams a glow of richness
and fulfillment from within.
And as you close the distance,
and bring your lips to mine,
The love we share, one could compare
to the dazzling topaz shine
